Our friendly team is dedicated to the care of your pets and we intend to give the highest possible standard of service. We understand how important your pet is to you and treat them as part of our family too. We believe that the best care standards are achieved through dedication, conscientiousness, compassion and teamwork, equally applied to patients, owners and fellow members of staff.

Trudy Musgrove
Clinical Director
BVSc CertAVP(VetGP) MRCVSTrudy qualified from Bristol University Veterinary School in 1994, and worked in mixed practice in Yorkshire and Cornwall, before focusing on small animal work, joining Oakwood in 2016. She is our small animal clinical director, and has a postgraduate certificate in advanced veterinary practice. She enjoys working with both cats and dogs, and especially likes complicated medical cases and looking after animals in the twilight of their life.

Emily Bedborough
Veterinary Surgeon
BA VetMB MRCVSEmily graduated in 2021 from the University of Cambridge and joined Oakwood soon after. She has a particular love of cats and feline care. She did her university dissertation on animal welfare legislation and would like to progress this interest further. In her spare time, she helps at a local Brownies group and is looking forward to getting a rescue cat of her own.

Lauren Tolhurst
Veterinary Surgeon
BVSc (Hons) MRCVSLauren trained in Australia and moved to the UK in 2019, with the plan to locum around the country. She started at Oakwood and loved it so much that she joined us permanently the following year! In her spare time, she enjoys running, hiking, travelling and being outdoors. Her and her partner have a young border collie, Charlie, who keeps them very busy!

Stacey Remblance
Head Nurse
C&GCertVNES BSc (Hons)Stacey came to Oakwood in 2008 for a work experience placement but we wouldn’t let her leave! She has since completed a string of qualifications, including a certificate in nursing exotic pets and British wildlife, and in 2018 became our head nurse. She has special interests in bird and reptile husbandry, and canine and feline nutrition.

Angela Palmer
Registered Veterinary Nurse
RVNAngie has worked in veterinary practice since 1992, qualifying as an RVN in 1997. She joined the team in 2014 and is using her wealth of experience to care for the small animal patients here.

Bethany Baker-Williams
Registered Veterinary Nurse
RVNBeth joined Oakwood in 2018 as a student nurse and qualified in 2021. In her spare time she enjoys running through the countryside and looking after her pets at home.

Beverley Chapman
Registered Veterinary Nurse
RVN DipCABTBev qualified as a veterinary nurse before she joined us in 2002, and has a special interest in animal behaviour. She gained a diploma in practical aspects of companion animal behaviour and training in 2004, and works in conjunction with other local behaviourists to advise owners on all manner of pet behavioural problems.

Sarah Manning-Reason
Registered Veterinary Nurse
RVNSarah joined the industry in 2007 as a receptionist, and qualified as an RVN in 2011, before joining Oakwood in 2018. She also has a certificate in the nursing of rabbits, and is a clinical coach helping our student nurses. Her main areas of interest are nurse clinics, rabbits and anaesthesia. Outside of work, she is kept busy by her two young daughters, husband and two dogs.

Paige Reeve
Student Vet Nurse
SVNPaige joined the team in 2020, after spending time as a canine carer for Dogs Trust and as a self-employed dog walker, as well as gaining a diploma in animal management in 2012. She has a cat, Theo, who is always full of energy, and loves to spend her spare time with her family and friends.

Megan Joy
Animal Nursing Assistant
ANAMegan worked in a veterinary diagnostics lab before she joined the Oakwood family in 2021. She really enjoys seeing the variety of patients that come into the practice and taking care of them after surgery. She has two dogs, who she loves going to training classes with, and two guinea pigs. Megan is soon enrolling on the nurse training course.

Kayleigh Gower
Animal Nursing Assistant
ANAKayleigh joined us in 2023 having previously worked in a veterinary diagnostics lab. She has very quickly become an invaluable member of the team and is always quietly and efficiently working hard to keep us all organised and looking after the animals in the kennels.
