OAKWOOD VETERINARY GROUP - OUT OF HOURS SERVICE

To ensure consistency and continuity of care for our clients and pets at times when the surgery is closed, the team at Oakwood are pleased to announce that we are partnering with Swayne & Partners for all of our Out of Hours provision.

Swayne & Partners are fully equipped to deal with all emergencies and provide a 24 hour hospital service staffed by a night vet and RVN nursing team.

If your pet needs urgent care out of hours, please call the normal Oakwood telephone number, 01379 852146, and you will be given details of how to contact the emergency vet.

Swayne and Partners take our out of hours calls from 6.00pm Monday to Friday, so any call between 6pm and 10pm will be charged at their evening out of hours consultation fee of £200.

Consultations after 10pm until 8.30am, and on weekends will be subject to their overnight/weekend out of hours consultation fee £300.

Please check costs with them when you call as they are not the same as Oakwood fees, they will be more than happy to give you an estimate.

Payment is expected at time of treatment/discharge for all patients and for those who are insured, it is their policy for the client to pay the practice directly and then insurance claims can be processed and the money paid back to you by your insurance provider.

Please ensure that you let Swayne & Partners know when you make the initial call to the Out of Hours service that you are an Oakwood client – this will help them to forward the notes on to us quickly after your visit and enable our nurses to follow up on your emergency visit.

Swayne & Partners are unable to offer visits to your home or ‘home practice’. As I am sure you can appreciate, they are much better equipped to deal with any emergencies surrounded by their CT scanner, ultrasound, ECG, endoscopy and digital x-ray machines.
